The name Alami comes from the Indonesian word for natural, but it also means ‘to experience’. That pretty much sums up Nusantara Lifestyle’s Alami range.

It’s furniture that looks and feels natural because it is. Built from A-grade reclaimed teak, sometimes detailed with handwoven paper rope, and finished in water-based, non-toxic colour stains. No shortcuts, and no greenwashing.

But more than that, every piece in this range has a story. The teak’s been salvaged from old homes across Java and dried by time, not energy-intensive kilns that are used to dry new teak. Our crew of skilled craftspeople turn it into furniture that’s made to last and feel good to live with.

Alami is a furniture collection, but it’s also a way to experience sustainability, Indonesian heritage, and design that genuinely cares about the planet.

What are you sitting on?

Timeless Design, Reclaimed Materials

There’s 100% no greenwashing here. Every piece in the Alami range uses 100% reclaimed teak, salvaged from old Indonesian structures. No fresh trees cut down. No awful fake grain veneers. Just timber that’s already proven it can last generations, transformed to become a much-loved part of your home or business.

With drawer panels and other accents crafted by hand with natural paper rope, and finished using Sirca’s water-based stains from Italy, and Häfele fittings from Germany, each piece guarantees durability, sustainability, and expert manufacturing.

Let’s take a closer look at the Alami range.

Living Room

Reclaimed teak furniture with recycled fabric and cushions filled with natural latex from Nusantara Lifestyle.

Alami 3-Seater Sofa
A solid teak frame holds this sofa together. It’s heavy, grounded, and extremely well made. The big comfy cushions are filled with natural latex (not the nasty synthetic kind), while the upholstery is crafted from Texstyle’s recycled fabric, made from post-consumer plastic bottles. The oversized arms and generous seat depth make it the kind of piece you’ll sink into for years. It’s built for daily life, for slow weekends, for family, and most of all for comfort.
Dimensions: 260 x 101 x 69 cm

Alami Single Seater Sofa
A natural companion to the 3-seater, this armchair offers the same honest build and earthy comfort in a smaller footprint. The reclaimed teak frame gives it strength and character, while the cushioning is soft but supportive. Place it as a reading chair in a quiet corner or use it as a matching pair in a lounge setup.
Dimensions: 100 x 101 x 69 cm

Alami Coffee Table
Built low and long from decades-old teak, this coffee table brings calm and character to any room. The surface tells its own story, with natural grain patterns, knots and imperfections left untouched. It’s the kind of table that becomes a centrepiece without trying to be one, holding coffee mugs, books, or slow Sunday mornings.
Dimensions: 140 x 65 x 45 cm

Dining Room

Reclaimed teak round dining table, chair with natural rope accent, and long dining table from Nusantara Lifestyle.

Alami Round Dining Table
Compact yet communal, this round dining table brings warmth and intimacy to smaller spaces. Made entirely from reclaimed teak, it comfortably seats four and fits easily into apartments, kitchens or cosy dining corners. The round shape keeps conversations flowing, while a softer finish shows off the timber’s age and grain beautifully (or choose a darker finish for something a bit more moody).
Dimensions: 130 x 130 x 75 cm

Alami Dining Chair
A lightweight but strong dining chair crafted from solid reclaimed teak and hand-woven paper rope. The seat and backrest provide comfort without fuss, and the natural give of the rope moulds to your shape over time. Whether you’re sitting down for a quick breakfast or a slow dinner, this chair is built to last, and age gracefully.
Dimensions: 45 x 90.5 x 44.5 cm
Seat depth: 48 cm

Alami Long Dining Table
This reclaimed teak dining table is made for sharing meals, stories and space. The generous surface easily seats up to eight people, making it perfect for family dinners or long catch-ups with friends. Built from thick, solid reclaimed wood, the table has a reassuring presence as it won’t creak, wobble, or date. Just honest materials and solid design.
Dimensions: 240 x 105 x 75 cm

Bedroom

Reclaimed teak bed head and frame, bedside table, and set of drawers featuring natural rope accents from Nusantara Lifestyle.

Alami Bed Head and Frame
Available in Super King, King, and Queen sizes, this is a bed built for deep sleep and relaxation. The reclaimed teak frame is heavy and solid, with a slatted base that breathes well in warmer climates. The headboard is accented with paper rope trim — a soft touch against the strength of the wood. With no visible bolts and no flimsy parts, this bed’s beauty is in its simplicity.
Dimensions:
Length: 212 cm
Width: 210 (Super King), 190 (King), 170 (Queen)
Height: 115 cm

Alami Bedside Table
The perfect companion for your bed. With one open shelf and one drawer, it holds everything you need within reach – books, glasses, a cup of tea. The drawer front is wrapped in hand-woven paper rope, giving it texture and character. Small in size, big on charm.
Dimensions: 55 x 40 x 50 cm

Alami Set of Drawers
A three-drawer chest that’ll last a bloody long time. Built from reclaimed teak and detailed with paper rope panels, the drawers run smooth, the frame holds firm, and the design feels equally at home in a minimalist or more eclectic bedroom. It’s a piece that just works, and will keep working for decades.
Dimensions: 125 x 40 x 90 cm

Storage & Accent Pieces

Reclaimed teak TV cabinet, sideboard and console table featuring natural rope accents from Nusantara Lifestyle.

Alami TV Cabinet
A cabinet that looks beautiful in any space. Made from reclaimed teak with paper rope door and drawer panels, it brings texture and warm tones to the living room. There’s ample space inside for consoles, cables and bits you don’t want to look at — and a whole lot of surface on top for things you do.
Dimensions: 180 x 42 x 50 cm

Alami Sideboard
Designed for storage but made to be seen, this sideboard is built from reclaimed teak and finished with paper rope door panels. It works as a buffet in the dining room, a cabinet in the living room, or as a catch-all in the hallway. Every surface shows the history of the timber, and every shelf will hold up year after year.
Dimensions: 175 x 46 x 85 cm

Alami Console Table
This console table is made for entryways, hallways, or anywhere you want to add a touch of simple yet beautiful design. Crafted from solid reclaimed teak, the surface is smooth but full of character. It doesn’t take up much space, but it will certainly turn heads.
Dimensions: 170 x 40 x 90 cm

A Note on Our Materials

A range of colourful fabric made from PET plastic, which is used to upholster cushions in the Nusantara Lifestyle three-seater sofa and single-seater sofa.

Every product in the Alami range is available in a range of natural wood stains:
Natural, Colourless, Walnut, Dark Walnut, Ebony, and Mahogany.

Cushions are upholstered using Texstyle Recycled fabric, made from post-consumer plastic waste. The plastic is cleaned, processed into PET pellets, and spun into soft, durable yarn — meeting REACH, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, and GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certifications. When we say we’re working as sustainably as possible, we mean it. This is also why when every Nusantara Lifestyle piece is shipped off, it’s protected by biodegradable materials.
