In this series of mini documentaries we meet a range of everyday Indonesian people living and working for a more sustainable and ecologically diverse Indonesian island chain.

Darma has grown up on the buffer zone of Sumatra’s Leuser National Park, home to some of Indonesia’s most diverse and under-threat flora and fauna. He has seen it all – the destruction, the protection, and the daily balance between humans and the stunning rainforest that skirts their everyday lives. We go with Darma on an adventure into the forest, meet the area’s famous orangutans, and learn more about the real threats of rainforest destruction, and the roles of surrounding communities in preventing it.

Wayan Wardika was fascinated with the beauty of fireflies from a very young age. As their evening lights began to fade with the island’s rapid development, this fascination turned into a passion – a passion to restore, educate and conserve these tiny creatures so integral to Bali’s ecosystem.
